mRelief.com is the web and text messaging app dedicated to fixing the broken American welfare system that leaves the most vulnerable without access to available public assistance. In it’s first 3 months, the app’s major focus has been alleviating wait times in Chicago by giving prospective beneficiaries a way to assess whether it is worth it to invest the time in the application process by screening their eligibility. They are working on expanding access to people of varying citizenship and students, and trying to make the policy rules on food stamps more transparent.
